Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Phoenix

Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Phoenix, AZ bookstore on Wednesday, June 25^th. The new Barnes & Noble is located in the Biltmore community within The Shops at Town & Country (2011 E. Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016), in the space formerly occupied by Forever 21, near Whole Foods and next to The Container Store.

The new Barnes & Noble will officially open to the public at 9AM PST on Wednesday the 25^th, with bestselling author Kathleen Glasgow cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her books, including Girl in Pieces and her newest release, The Glass Girl.

The bookstore showcases the highly lauded design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller. The bookstore will also house an updated B&N Café.

“It has been 20 years since we last opened a Barnes & Noble in Phoenix and are very pleased to do so now in The Shops at Town & Country,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “Our booksellers are eager to open the doors to this beautiful new Barnes & Noble and our baristas look forward to welcoming patrons into their brand-new B&N Café.”

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 60 new bookstores in 2025.

The Phoenix location is one of three new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in June, alongside new stores in Connecticut and Virginia. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.
