Three KODAK digital print solutions, including the new KODAK DIGIMASTER EX138 Digital Production System, will help The Marek Group meet growing customer demand for high impact, quick turnaround printing.

In addition to the DIGIMASTER EX138 system, The Marek Group purchased a KODAK NEXPRESS 2500 Digital Production Color Press and KODAK NEXGLOSSER Glossing Unit.

“Installing these three KODAK digital solutions was natural for us because they have the excellent quality and uptime we were looking for, especially for our growing web to print business,” said Fuzzy S. Marek, CEO, The Marek Group. “Often our customers require 24 hour turnaround and these KODAK solutions allow us to take on this work knowing that meeting tight deadlines is a non issue.”

Launched at Graph Expo 06, the KODAK DIGIMASTER EX138 Digital Production System builds upon the proven quality, performance, productivity, and flexibility of Kodak’s award winning DIGIMASTER technology to address the demanding needs of print buyers for faster turnaround time, new and creative print on demand documents with quality that rivals offset, and variable data printing and sophisticated finishing. The DIGIMASTER EX138 system features improved job management, robust and user friendly front end capabilities, higher large format paper capacity and fully integrated finishing. The new DIGIMASTER system helps users grow their businesses by offering applications such as varying sized, saddle stitched booklets, on demand short run books and color integrated workflows.

“Since we already own a KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Digital Production Color Press and a KODAK DIGIMASTER 9110 Digital Production System, we’re very familiar with KODAK products, which is a bonus for our print operators,” added Marek. “We trust the reliability and appreciate the ease of use of these KODAK solutions.”

The KODAK NEXPRESS 2500Press meets a variety of needs from entry level to very high volume environments. Customers are able to upgrade presses as they grow their businesses with options to select desired paper capacity, increase processing capability, and add a fifth imaging unit for delivery of spot color, watermarking and protective coating with the GATF InterTech Award-winning KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions. The fifth imaging unit solutions also enable high impact glossing in conjunction with the NEXGLOSSER glossing unit.

According to Marek, he decided to add a NEXGLOSSER glossing unit to the NEXPRESS 2500 press for its “unique capabilities and the fact that not a lot of companies offer this type of solution.”

The NEXGLOSSER glossing unit features KODAK NEXPRESS Clear Dry Ink that delivers enhanced image quality and a laminate like gloss for higher marketing impact. The NEXGLOSSER glossing unit is useful on book covers, postcards and similar materials.

With two locations in Wisconsin, The Marek Group employs 175 people and has been in existence since 1923. Its primary customers are Fortune 500 companies, direct marketing agencies, and businesses with fulfillment and specialty packaging needs.
