New Book Empowers Women to Answer the Call of Ministry Leadership Despite Traditional Barriers

Crescent Springs, KY, USA – WEBWIRE

What happens when a woman hears God’s call to ministry but finds herself up against centuries of tradition and cultural resistance? In her bold and insightful new book, God Called, She Answered: Moving Past History and Tradition into Ministry Leadership,” Dr. Geraldine Morris Pinkston invites readers into a powerful conversation about faith, leadership, and the resilience of women stepping into God-given roles.

About the Book
“God Called, She Answered” encourages women to embrace their ministry calling and overcome the traditional and cultural obstacles that often hinder them. Dr. Pinkston explores the historical and philosophical roots behind gender-based ministry limitations—including ancient customs, Church Fathers’ interpretations, and prevailing views of scripture. She also delves into gender communication dynamics and how recognizing each other’s strengths can foster more effective ministry.

The book culminates in heartfelt, Spirit-led counsel from ministry leaders across denominations, genders, and generations. These testimonies offer both inspiration and guidance to women pressing forward in their divine purpose.

About the Author Dr. Geraldine (Gerri) Pinkston holds degrees in speech and hearing pathology and school psychology, as well as a doctorate in counseling psychology. With a career spanning four decades as a school psychologist, Dr. Pinkston brings deep insight into human development and communication. Her creative work includes published children’s stories and church plays.

Since being ordained in 2000, she has served in leadership roles in Connecticut and California, including as Assistant Pastor at the Congregation of Zion. In 2023, she launched canvasministry.com, a platform for women in ministry to connect, share, and thrive in their calling.

Alzheimer’s Book
Dr. Geraldine Morris Pinkston has been considering the idea of writing another book and has started doing some initial research. She is exploring the possibility of focusing on Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. The book would cover what the disease is, its causes, available treatments, care facilities, costs, and how it is addressed in the U.S. compared to other countries.

As many Americans are living longer lives, the challenge of maintaining their quality of life becomes more difficult, not to mention, costly. The definition of Alzheimer’s Disease appears to be extensive and is generally accepted as a form of dementia. The U.S. Government suggests, “dementia is not a specific disease. It is a descriptive term for a collection of symptoms that can be caused by a number of disorders that affect the brain.”

Impairment in memory and language functioning is described as “significant.” Behavior required for daily functioning and relationships are also affected.

Alzheimer’s disease is not a “one size fits all” condition. This book will present a number of snapshots of individuals diagnosed with dementia. Descriptive names—which will be explained—will replace actual names to protect their identity.

This book promises to be filled with both information and raw emotion, as personal stories—from family members and those living with the condition—will be solicited. Readers will also walk into some of Dr. Pinkston’s own experiences with loved ones as they struggle to balance their lives on the unstable path of Alzheimer’s.
