MBR Repair Honors Local Heroes with Donation to Dayton District Volunteer Fire Department After Historic Storms
"Our shop exists to keep people moving, and that includes the ones running toward the danger, not away from it."
In the wake of the recent storms that ravaged Armstrong County and left residents without power for nearly a week, one local business is stepping up to recognize the heroes who helped hold the community together.
MBR Repair, a trusted automotive and heavy-duty truck repair shop based in Dayton, PA, has made a donation to the Dayton District Volunteer Fire Department in appreciation of the department’s tireless efforts during the disaster. This donation, given without restriction, is a token of gratitude for their remarkable service—and a continuation of MBR Repair’s long-standing commitment to supporting local first responders.
Owned and operated by Brandan Reesman, MBR Repair has always had deep roots in the first responder community. Reesman’s own grandmother, a trailblazer in the region, was a long-time volunteer of the Dayton District Volunteer Fire Department. That legacy has inspired Brandan to routinely offer deeply discounted services to fire departments throughout the region, including those in Dayton, Rural Valley, Templeton, and beyond.
Reesman, pictured center along with his partner, Kyleigh Haynes, and Dayton District Volunteer Fire Company’s Chief, Barry Lockhart, is proud to be recognized as the area’s hometown auto and truck repair shop serving towns like Dayton, Kittanning, Indiana, and the surrounding region.
“When things get tough in small towns like ours, the community pulls together,” said Reesman. “These fire departments—most of them volunteer—went above and beyond. They cleared roads, delivered water, served food, directed traffic, powered warming and charging stations, and made sure no one was left behind. They didn’t ask for recognition, but they deserve it.”
During the storm response, Reesman didn’t stay behind the shop doors. He and Haynes personally took out MBR Repair’s service truck and used its crane to help lift and remove fallen trees and other large debris, lending a hand wherever he could.
Mainly recognized as a diesel repair shop, MBR services everything from everyday vehicles to fire trucks, dump trucks, excavators, and farm tractors, big and small. MBR Repair is more than a truck repair shop—it’s a pillar of the Armstrong County community. Whether helping first responders stay mission-ready or showing up with tools in hand during emergencies, MBR Repair believes that giving back isn’t optional—it’s essential.
“This donation is just one small way we can say thank you,” Reesman added. “We’re proud to support the Dayton District VFD and all the departments that protect us. Our shop exists to keep people moving, and that includes the ones running toward the danger, not away from it.”
