Alstom presents innovative solutions for the locomotive sector at transport logistic, the leading global trade fair for logistics and mobility

 Alstom, a global leader in intelligent and sustainable mobility, will leverage the industry’s broadest locomotive portfolio at transport logistic in Munich from 02 to 05 June 2025. The well-established Traxx locomotive platform will be at the centre of Alstom’s presence at the world’s leading trade fair for logistics and mobility.

Thanks to its wide range, covering all needs from shunting and multi-purpose to heavy freight transport, the Traxx platform offers the right solutions for virtually all operator needs. Equipped with Alstom’s leading signalling system Onvia Cab, the multi-purpose locomotive Traxx Universal is expanding its presence in Europe. The possibility of seamless cross-border operations provides access to additional countries and corridors. Recent orders of more than 300 of these state-of-the-art locomotives for customers all across the continent underline the market’s need for a flexible, efficient, and versatile solution.

Another core topic will be Alstom’s comprehensive services portfolio, with more than 50 depots forming the broadest maintenance network across Europe. An important element of the services offering is HealthHub, Alstom’s solution for predictive maintenance and fleet management, continuously monitoring the health of railway assets for maximised reliability and availability, and optimised lifecycle costs. It captures standard and smart data and uses advanced AI-based algorithms to prevent failures before they occur, decreasing downtime and recurring faults by up to 50%.

At its outdoor booth FM.703/1, Alstom will also present the progress in the field of “green 
re-tractioning”. With the Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2 ICE), Alstom is working on a plug-and-play solution enabling the conversion of diesel shunting locomotives to hydrogen propulsion. After conversion, the locomotive no longer emits CO2 and saves up to 3,000 tonnes of CO2 over a remaining service life of 15-20 years. A prototype will start test operation at a customer site this summer.
