Summer season begins at Helsinki Airport – see the busiest travel times in June
According to passenger volume forecasts, the summer holiday season will kick off strongly during the upcoming weekend, May 31–June 1, and the entire summer is expected to be a busy travel period. Please check our packing instructions and liquid limits before your trip.
The terminal sees the highest number of departing passengers during the morning hours from 5:00 to 8:00 AM and in the afternoon from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
During the holiday season, there are many travelers, and longer queues may temporarily form at various service points in the airport. We kindly ask passengers to follow the instructions provided by their respective airlines regarding their journey. We recommend arriving at the airport according to your airline’s guidance and following their instructions regarding baggage and other travel-related matters. Some airlines offer the possibility to do the check-in already the day before. You can inquire directly with the airline about the possibility of early check-in.
The Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) may announce industrial action during the summer, which could affect Helsinki Airport’s air traffic and airport operations. Airlines will communicate any impacts directly to passengers.
Packing tips for luggage: carry-on and cargoBefore arriving at the airport, please check which items should be packed in carry-on baggage and which in checked baggage.
