Sunstates Security Names Phillip Curran as 2025 Supervisor of the Year

Sunstates Security is proud to announce that Phillip Curran, a supervisor based in Dallas, has been named the company’s 2025 Supervisor of the Year. The award was presented during the company’s annual leadership conference held in May, where Curran was recognized for his extraordinary leadership, dedication, and service excellence.

Curran’s exceptional performance was most notably demonstrated during a catastrophic fire at a key client site. His calm, decisive actions helped ensure the safety of everyone involved and minimized operational disruption, embodying Sunstates’ highest standards of professionalism and crisis response.

In addition to his crisis response, Curran successfully led a 19-member team through a complex SMARRT deployment. His strategic oversight and commitment to a collaborative culture ensured the project remained on track and met all objectives. Colleagues describe him as a mentor who balances accountability with support, consistently driving both team morale and performance.

Two additional supervisors were also recognized for their outstanding contributions:

• Second Place: Anita Graves (Savannah) – Honored for her heroic intervention during a routine patrol when she rescued a four-year-old child from walking into a busy intersection and worked with law enforcement to reunite the child with her mother.

• Third Place: Janniece Dailey (Washington, DC) – Celebrated for her decade-long leadership at her site, known for high officer retention, innovative policy implementation, and the creation of a best practices newsletter and updated SOP manual.
