About the International Lifeline Fund
Lifeline empowers communities across Sub-Saharan Africa by addressing the region’s most urgent challenges: access to clean water and clean energy. Through sustainable partnerships, Lifeline helps build and maintain fresh-water wells and produces and distributes affordable, fuel-efficient stoves that reduce toxic smoke, save time and cut carbon emissions.
To date, Lifeline has provided about 350,000 rural villagers with access to clean water and enabled 650,000 households to obtain fuel-saving stoves. As a result, over 1.6 million fewer tons of CO₂ have been released into the atmosphere and 25 million hours are being saved each year in time spent collecting water and wood. Lifeline is creating lasting change — improving health, livelihoods and the environment — one community at a time.
