“Capturing Nature”

For the second consecutive year, the Vatican Museums are offering the experience of a guided tour conceived for families with children, to discover the wonders of the Pope’s Gardens.
Starting from 30 May, the initiative “Capturing Nature. Families in the Vatican Gardens” is a guided tour created specially for parents who wish to spend two pleasant hours with their children, immersed in the beauty of the Vatican Gardens. An open-air experience that pairs learning with fun, inspired by Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato si’, to raise awareness, among adults and children, of respect for Creation and protection of the environment.

Until 31 October, expert educators will accompany families in the discovery of the “green lung” of the Vatican State; an itinerary that brings together nature, art and faith, enriched by educational games and workshops to make the tour even more creative and engaging. Parents and children will thus be able to admire the botanical wonders mentioned in the Bible, stroll in places beloved by the Pontiffs and discover many curiosities and interesting anecdotes.
Capturing Nature is a true experience of outdoor education, to grow together in awareness of the beauty of Creation and the importance of taking care of our “common home”.

The guided tour (available in both Italian and English) is designed for families with children between the age of 6 and 12 and is also fully accessible to people with sensory, motor and intellectual disabilities (please reserve at accessibilita.musei@scv.va).
At the end of the tour, and at no additional cost, it will be possible to visit the Vatican Museums independently.
