Beauty Editor Kelsey Castañon Promoted to PS Editor-in-Chief

Jill Dehnert, group publisher of lifestyle brands at Vox Media, announced that ASME-nominated writer and editor Kelsey Castañon has been promoted to editor-in-chief of PS. Castañon, who joined the brand seven years ago as beauty director, will now lead editorial strategy across platforms with a focus on talent-first storytelling and a renewed commitment to joy.

Castañon’s vision for PS marks a bold pivot toward a personality-forward model—where editors and creators are not just behind the scenes, but front and center, building real relationships with the audience. Across the brand’s ecosystem—which includes 8.2 million YouTube subscribers, over half a million followers on TikTok, and over 4 million Instagram followers—this next chapter is designed to reflect how real people consume and connect with content today.

Under her direction, PS will sharpen its focus to feel-good content as it intersects with its core pillars — health, fitness, beauty, balance, and shopping — with an emphasis on first-person storytelling. “I want PS to feel in-reach, insatiable, and human,” Castañon says. “We speak to the real-life experiences of young women who are building careers, raising families, group-chatting about their latest romantasy read, and shopping their feelings after a long day. PS will create a slate of new talent-led franchises and expand existing ones. Castañon is bullish on drafting off its recent success in its editorial and podcast partnership with Vivian Tu — founder and CEO of Your Rich BFF and host of Networth and Chill – which the brand ties its Money Moves franchise, which gives practical financial advice. Castañon also plans to bring back a refreshed version of Popsugar’s popular Reporting for Beauty video series, featuring faces from across the PS talent pool and industry experts across hair, makeup, nails, and skin care.
