IKEA U.S. supports the reintroduction of the Equality Act in Congress

As a values-driven company, we believe equality is a fundamental human right. Since 2013, our policies have protected employees based on gender identity and sexual orientation, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and free to be their authentic selves.

Today, too many Americans still lack basic nondiscrimination protections. The Equality Act would help change that by extending federal nondiscrimination protections to LGBTQ+ individuals in areas like employment, housing, and other public services. We’ve backed this legislation since 2017 and view it as a vital step toward ensuring equality for all.  

At IKEA, we’re always working towards our vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people, and we believe this legislation will help deliver equal rights for all. IKEA U.S. urges Congress to swiftly consider and pass this important legislation.
