Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Tampa

Authors Tony & Lauren Dungy to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Opening at 10AM on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025

Tampa, FL – WEBWIRE

Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its Tampa, FL bookstore on Wednesday, April 23rd. The new Barnes & Noble is located in the Palms of Carrollwood Shopping Center (13123 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa FL 33618), in the former Bed, Bath & Beyond space, next to Petco.

The new Barnes & Noble bookstore marks the return of the bookseller to the Carrollwood community. The official grand re-opening to the public will be at 10AM EST on Wednesday the 23rd, with New York Times Bestselling authors Tony & Lauren Dungy cutting the ribbon and signing copies of their books, Uncommon Influence and Uncommon Marriage.

The bookstore showcases the highly lauded design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller. The bookstore will also house an updated B&N Café.

“We are very pleased to be back in Carrollwood only eight months after closing our previous bookstore,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “For 28 years we were a gathering place for this community, and our longtime booksellers are as eager to return as they are to welcome customers into their brand-new Carrollwood Barnes & Noble.”

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 60 new bookstores in 2025.

The Tampa location is one of four new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in April, alongside new stores in Illinois, Nebraska, and New York. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.

“I am very excited to bring Barnes & Noble back to the Carrollwood community after closing our old location nine months ago,” said Store Manager Matt Morse, longtime Barnes & Noble Bookseller. “We can’t wait to welcome you to our new bookstore!”
