AdvaMed Congratulates Dr. Oz on his Confirmation as CMS Administrator

AdvaMed®, the Medtech Association, released the following statement from President and CEO Scott Whitaker on the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Dr. Mehmet Oz to serve as Administrator of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  

“We congratulate Dr. Oz on his confirmation. As a heart surgeon who helped develop medtech to treat heart conditions, Dr. Oz understands how medtech is the backbone of the health care system and critical to improving and saving lives. His call for faster Medicare coverage of FDA-authorized breakthrough medtech is evidence of that understanding. We look forward to working with him to advance that longstanding priority.
