easyJet is expecting to fly up to 4.2 million customers over the upcoming Easter holidays in what is set to be one of the busiest Easter getaways in the airline’s history.
Families, friends, and solo adventurers are all set to jet off over Easter, with the airline operating nearly 10,000 more seats over the bank holiday weekend compared to last year.
The getaway rush is set to peak on Good Friday, 18 April, when up to 262,000 customers are expected to take to the skies on more than 1,800 flights across the airline’s extensive route network. In the UK alone, up to 145,000 customers are set to fly to or from easyJet’s 21 UK airports on 1,101 flights.
easyJet holidays will see its busiest Easter yet with Dalaman, Majorca, and Tenerife leading the charge for sunshine getaways, and Amsterdam, Barcelona and Paris for family Disneyland breaks being the city break of choice.
Further afield, Enfidha in Tunisia, Marrakesh in Morocco and Tenerife in Spain are among the top spots for holidaymakers seeking guaranteed sunshine, offering average climates of around 23°C in April and accessible from the UK in around four hours.
Just in time for Easter, the airline has opened its 10th UK base at London Southend, offering up to 122 flights a week including services to Antalya, Pisa, Dalaman, and Tenerife, providing even more great value choice and connectivity from the UK.
Elsewhere across the airline’s unrivalled leisure network, flights are now operating on easyJet’s first Sub-Saharan route, to Sal in Cape Verde from London Gatwick, and Tbilisi in Georgia from London Luton.
In total 110 new easyJet routes are taking off this summer, including 44 from the UK, which is set to be the airline’s biggest ever summer with seven additional Airbus A320 family aircraft joining its UK-based fleet.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said:
“Easter is one of our busiest times for travel for flights and package holidays, which sees millions of holidaymakers jetting off to enjoy some spring sunshine, hit the slopes or visit friends and family. This year will be no exception, with up to three million of them expected to fly with easyJet for our unrivalled choice of destinations across Europe and beyond.
“As we kick off our biggest ever summer season, with over 1,000 routes including 110 new services launching across our network, we’re focused on providing great value and choice, always aiming to make travel easy for the 100 million customers we’ll fly this year and we can’t wait to welcome them on board.”
There are still great value fares to be had this Easter for under £50 to popular beach and city break destinations including Alicante, Malaga, Amsterdam, Faro, Prague, and Milan and for those with late-season snow on the agenda, to ski destinations including Geneva and Grenoble.
easyJet holidays has a vast selection of beach and city breaks available, starting from £248 per person with travel dates all the way up to October 2026.
