Cecile Labar’s latest book, “Faith,” takes readers on an extraordinary spiritual journey, offering a firsthand account of her transformative experiences as she discovers the Bible for the first time and receives guidance from the Holy Spirit. This deeply personal narrative explores her walk with God, reflecting on her growth as a religious, educated, and healthy individual.
More than just a book, “Faith” serves as a testimony to Labar’s encounters with God, her revelations from the Bible, and the powerful visions she experienced after her baptism. She reveals how this sacred moment—baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—became a defining turning point in her life. To honor the occasion, Labar created her own white cotton garments, a symbolic gesture inspired by biblical teachings.
In the book, Labar emphasizes the importance of understanding both the Old Testament and the Gospels, arguing that a complete understanding of God comes from the entire Bible. She also shares her powerful visions, including a profound encounter with Lord Emmanuel and vivid experiences of spiritual warfare, such as witnessing the Devil in London and New York. Through these stories, she highlights the ongoing battle between good and evil, showing how faith helps overcome fear and challenges.
The book also integrates insights from the Apostle Paul on faith and Pastor Oral Roberts’ teachings on overcoming fear, blending timeless biblical wisdom with practical applications for personal spiritual growth.
“Faith” also examines the practical aspects of living as a devout Christian. Labar discusses the importance of house groups and counseling in fostering spiritual growth, while offering a thoughtful critique of the support churches provide to their communities. She explores three different Bible versions, sharing her reflections and discoveries, making this book a valuable resource for both seasoned believers and those new to the Christian faith.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1956, Cecile Labar moved to London at age nine. She went on to earn a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work at Croydon College and worked as an Education Welfare Officer and Social Worker. Labar later moved to New York to study Broadcast Announcing. Now a devoted mother and passionate writer, she shares her spiritual insights and personal journey in “Faith.”
