Chelsea discover Women’s FA Cup fifth round opponents
Chelsea will face either Everton or Tottenham Hotspur at home in the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup.
Sonia Bompastor’s side secured their place in the fifth round thanks to a 4-0 win against Championship side Charlton Athletic at Kingsmeadow on Sunday. Mayra Ramirez opened the scoring in the 40th minute before Guro Reiten, Aggie Beever-Jones and Niamh Charles found themselves on the scoresheet.
We will now face the winner of Everton v Spurs at Kingsmeadow in the next round, with that fourth-round contest set to be played on 29 January after it was postponed on Sunday due to the cold weather.
Our fifth-round clash against fellow Women’s Super League opposition is due to be played on the weekend of 9 February.
The Blues have won the FA Cup on five occasions, with our last triumph being in the 2022/23 season when Sam Kerr scored the only goal as we defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley.
