Agrovision’s Sembrando Futuro Project Selected to Represent Peru’s Biodiversity at COP 16

Agrovision, a leading vertically integrated global superfruit platform, is honored to announce that its Sembrando Futuro (Sowing Future) reforestation project has been chosen by the Peruvian Government in collaboration with the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity to represent Peru’s national biodiversity portfolio at the COP 16 United Nations Conference on Biodiversity. This prestigious selection underscores Agrovision’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation, as COP 16 brings together global leaders and environmental experts in Cali, Colombia, to address urgent climate and biodiversity challenges.

The Sembrando Futuro project, located in Arena Verde, Morrope, is dedicated to conserving and restoring Peru’s northern coastal dry forest. Through reforestation efforts across 2,000 hectares, Agrovision is actively working to restore native plant species, promote biodiversity, and safeguard endangered fauna. This initiative has shown measurable positive impacts, such as increased local biodiversity, protection of threatened species, and enhanced ecosystem resilience, demonstrating Agrovision’s commitment to sustainable agricultural practices that support both environmental and social priorities.

At COP 16, Agrovision will participate in the session, “Importance of Biodiversity in Restoration Processes in Northern Peru,” scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. During this session, Agrovision will share insights and experiences on biodiversity conservation, regenerative agriculture, ecosystem service enhancement, and the preservation of natural capital. The Sembrando Futuro project will also highlight Agrovision’s dedication to social inclusion and comprehensive land management as part of its mission to contribute to a sustainable future.
