“The Six-Day War in Creationism” by Gene Nouhan Will Be Displayed at the 2024 Frankfurt Book Fair
Gene Nouhan’s book presents a unique template that moved a cult (The Worldwide Church of God) to orthodoxy and applies it to the Young Earth Reform Movement. Gene persuasively shows where it departs from historic Christianity.
“This book is like a hammer blow knocking down one bad idea after another” – Michael Morrison President and Professor of New Testament at Grace Communion International Seminary.
The book marketing company ReadersMagnet will exhibit “The Six-Day War in Creationism: A New Critique of the Young Earth Reform Movement” by Gene Nouhan at the 76th Frankfurt Book Fair. The book event will occur on October 16-20, 2024, at the Messe Frankfurt, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
In watching the Ken Ham/Bill Nye debates, Gene became aware of the fight within Christianity over the six days of creation in Genesis. After disturbing interactions with zealots in the movement he saw the need to provide a definitive critique to help both sides navigate the biblical data.
As Gene reassesses the literal interpretation of Young Earth Creationism, he emphasizes that Christians have always been free to take Genesis literally or figuratively. The Reformist mentality denies this and seeks to reform Christianity and the culture with six literal days in Genesis.
“The Six-Day War in Creationism” unpacks an impressive number of new insights on Genesis related to the nature of God, the purposes of the Bible, and the Mission of the Church.
“This is not just about the age of the earth but a whole theological movement that’s doing a lot of harm. I like Nouhan’s solid orthodoxy about eternal life through union with Christ by faith.” − Prof. Phillip Cary, Editor of Pro Ecclesia: A Journal of Catholic and Evangelical Theology

About the Author
With thirty-five years of education in Theology, Philosophy, and Rhetoric, Gene decided to serve as Director of Apologetics for Reasonable Faith with William Lane Craig in Cincinnati, Ohio. There, he taught classical Apologetics.
During the historic changes in the Worldwide Church of God, Gene Nouhan wrote peer-reviewed studies, spoke at conferences, served as a Senior Pastor, and, with many other colleagues, helped move that fringe group to orthodox Christianity.
It turns out that untangling a denomination’s self-styled theology was good preparation for reassessing the excesses of the Young Earth Reform Movement. Gene decided to write a comprehensive and definitive critique of the Movement in this one-volume work, “The Six-Day War in Creationism.”
This book is encyclopedic on the Creationism debate.
Gene has been happily married Susan for forty-four years and has three grown children: Elizabeth, Jordan, and Christine.
