Matrox Axio Realtime HD and SD Editing Platform Part of Avid Open Storage Initiative Demonstration at NAB 2007
Montreal, Canada – Matrox® Video Products Group today announced that Matrox Axio™ LE will be used in conjunction with Adobe® Production Studio in an open workflow demonstration at the Avid Technology, Inc. booth (#SL106) at NAB 2007. Through its Open Storage Initiative, Avid offers new levels of workflow flexibility to film and video editors, producers, directors, graphic artists, animators, and others who need realtime access to media created using a mix of Avid® and non-Avid tools. The Avid Open Storage Initiative makes it possible to run practically any third-party Mac OS X or Windows XP content creation tool on Avid Unity™ shared-storage systems and Avid VideoRAID® local storage systems.
Matrox Axio LE extends the capabilities of the Adobe applications, providing native MXF file support for Panasonic P2, Sony XDCAM, and Sony XDCAM HD in Adobe Premiere® Pro and After Effects®, as well as native support for additional codecs including: DVCPRO HD, MPEG HD, offline HD, MPEG-2 I-frame in HD and SD, IMX, DVCPRO, and DVCPRO50. Matrox Axio will also be demonstrated at NAB 2007 in the Adobe booth (#SL3220) and the Matrox booth (#SL2015).
“The trend in post and broadcast facilities to have a mix of systems from various manufacturers so that on each project, editors can choose the best application for the job. Often that choice is Matrox Axio and the Adobe suite of digital media applications,” said Ankit Patel, Matrox Axio product manager. “We applaud Avid for making it possible for users to take advantage of the speed, capacity, and reliability of Avid Unity shared-storage systems and Avid local storage products in these new diverse environments.”
