HHS Wants Total Control Over Technology Used in Health Care

In the past few weeks, HHS’s IT office has given itself a promotion and proposed to drastically expand its review of products used by the health care industry. This morning, the agency announced the mandates of its proposals: all grantees or programs with a connection to HHS funding must use products the agency has approved.

Everyone should be concerned. Historically, the government does not do technology well, yet we’re seeing government reach far and wide to control and dictate technology used in health care.

The Health Innovation Alliance will work closely with our members, Congress, and HHS to make sure health care can function for the benefit of caregivers and patients and to make sure the hand of government stays in check.
