Adelpha L. DeGuzman’s Zodiac World Fantasy Novel Now Slated for Frankfurter Buchmesse 2024
Adelpha L. DeGuzman is a Philippine immigrant to the U.S. and has spent decades in accounting. However, she had long harbored a desire to write fantasy and recently realized this life goal by self-publishing her debut novel “Axel: The Mysterious Tapestry.” This year, she has also arranged to exhibit it at the Frankfurter Buchmesse, hoping to have it contribute to world culture.
“My middle schooler really enjoyed this book. I’m excited to read it too!”
As one of the largest book fairs in the world, the Frankfurter Buchmesse features a wide selection of new works from authors enthusiastically playing around with creative ideas. Many of these come from all corners of the world, giving their takes on classical genres, plotlines, and formulas.
However, the most endearing authors come from unexpected backgrounds but have long quietly nurtured their talent, taking their time before finally seizing the opportunity to publish their work and have it shown to countless readers worldwide. That certainly describes Adelpha DeGuzman’s author’s journey, a Filipino who immigrated to the U.S. to work in accounting but recently published her fantasy novel.
DeGuzman spent decades at her job but has always wanted to write fantasy. Her book, “Axel: The Mysterious Tapestry,” is the product of her many years quietly working on her craft on the side. In recent years, she has been taking bigger and bolder steps to bring her book to reading audiences across America. However, she has also set her sights on the Frankfurt International Book Fair for a shot at international exposure.
“Axel” follows a 14-year-old boy who receives a mystical tapestry that suddenly transports him to another world ruled by tribes based on the twelve zodiac signs. It’s a well-loved portal fantasy premise that’s still a hit with young readers. The world of “Axel,” like in many portal fantasy stories, is in great danger, and its young protagonist is the chosen savior who must find the courage within himself to succeed.
Readers can discover how DeGuzman delivers her take on an otherworldly fantasy adventure by checking out “Axel: The Mysterious Tapestry” at the Readers Magnet exhibit. It can be found in booth 6.0 B11 during Frankfurt Buchmesse. The prestigious book is scheduled for October 16-20 at the Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage Park. Copies of the book are also available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other Online stores.
