“Sad Papaw’s Heritage” revisits the early days of the Harmon family as they journeyed from Germany and settled in America. It traces back the origin of the Harmon surname, rooting from several earlier versions, such as Hermann and Harman. A splendid piece of detailed family history, the book gives a glimpse of how the family became the way that they are today.

Also in this book, readers will experience the America of old when it first took to the field a new game called baseball. It describes how the Harmon children first tasted graham crackers and peanut butter cookies and the days when the parents and doctors struggled to find a cure for simple ailments, pneumonia, headaches, or labor pains. The author offers a journey through time that’s forever etched in the history of the Harmons.

Visitors to the Printers Row Lit Fest can find “Sad Papaw’s Heritage” displayed at the ReadersMagnet exhibit.
