The New Asics Metarise™ 2 Volleyball Shoe Will Support to Jump Higher

ASICS introduces the latest version of its top volleyball shoes

KOBE, JAPAN – WEBWIRE

ASICS today announces the launch of the new METARISE™ 2 shoe that may enables players to jump approximatively 2.0cm* higher on the court thanks to a carbon fiber reinforced plastic plate and devised high curvature toe design.

On this occasion, ASICS unveils a special colorway of the METARISE™ 2 shoe called METARISE™ 2 PARIS. The special colorway features bright eye-catching yellow inspired by the energizing hues of Paris and its association with “the city of light”, as ASICS aims to spread positivity and brighten the mood of the world through the movement.

The most significant update is the addition of the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic plate internal the midsole. This carbon plate helps distribute pressure more evenly to generate a greater vertical propulsion force.

Another notable improvement is the new designed toe curvature devising a forefoot midsole shape, designed to help promote more efficient jump set-ups. Working in conjunction with the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic plate, the new design helps to control foot posture appropriately, which may result in more powerful and higher jumps than its predecessor by generating vertical propulsion force.

To add further cushioning, METARISE™ 2 shoe features FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO, a lightweight and energetic foam with cloud-like softness that offers cushioning for a softer landing while providing a responsive rebound to facilitate more energized jumps. The foam is made from approximately 24% bio-based material from renewable sources. Importantly, the METARISE™ 2 shoe is the first indoor shoes in the industry including the reporting on total CO₂ emissions; 15.1kg CO₂ emissions, providing transparency on ASICS’ sustainability efforts.

Professional volleyball player Yuji Nishida, representing the Japan National Team, and reigning gold medalist at Olympic Games and the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League, silver medalist at the CEV Champions League, Jean Patry have tested METARISE™ 2 shoe throughout the design and development process.

I place great importance on shoes that are made in a way that allows me to return my power upward, and on cushioning that gives a forgiving landing when I choose shoes,” said Yuji Nishida. “I focus a lot on the power and force behind my jumps and always looking to jump higher, so I felt the new METARISE™ 2 volleyball shoe are the right shoes for me with strong upward propulsion by virtue of updated carbon fiber reinforced plastic plate and high curvature toe design.”

First of all, I am very happy to be involved in the development of this new METARISE™ 2 shoe,” said Jean Patry. “I was able to exchange impressions and feedback on the shoes that what aspects could be improved with ASICS development and design team when they brought prototypes to let me try on the shoes each time. There was a great connection between me as an athlete using the shoes and the team designing them. I really enjoyed that process. I like ASICS, I like the devotion of the team and being able to work on a shoe, notably a shoe that I use. Finally, the new METARISE™ 2 shoe is here and I’m very happy.”

We are proud to be launching the METARISE™ 2 shoe. METARISE™ 2 shoe has been designed to achieve a higher spike touch for players,” said Yating Lin, ASICS’ Global Product Management of indoor footwear. “We are confident the improvements will redefine the highest jump so that this new METARISE™ 2 shoe really works with upward propulsion taking athletes higher. We hope this shoe helps many athletes to move their minds with ASICS.”
