National Safety Month and Optimizing Programs to Protect Workers
CTSI provides businesses and institutions with industrial hygiene and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) services to safeguard workers and communities, mitigate risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and build better businesses.
Successful occupational health and safety programs are crucial as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that as recently as 2022, there were 5,486 fatal work injuries recorded in the country, with a worker dying every 96 minutes from a work-related injury.
The National Safety Council (NSC) created National Safety Month as a time for organizations, companies, government agencies, and individuals to increase awareness of workplace safety and health risks, and to make efforts to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, and deaths. The month-long observance has taken place each June since 1996.

That same year, private employers reported more than 2.8 million nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses, up 7.5% from 2021.
