Carol Kinnee Set to Showcase at PRLF 2024 with Recent Christmas Romance Novel About Small Town Santa Troubles
Carol Kinnee is an avid reader who has channeled her creative spark into writing novels. She has already published a handful of romances and has now come out with another one titled “The Mrs. Claus Contract,” a holiday story about a reluctant market Santa and his wackily backfiring scheme to keep his identity secret. The novel will exhibit at the upcoming Printers Row Lit Fest this September.

Carol Kinnee is one of the growing number of new authors who have started out as avid readers but now proudly have a handful of books to their name. A West Coast native, her novels often feature the region’s lush background of deep, green forests and rocky, coastal shorelines.
Still, she has certainly been expanding and has recently published her first stand-alone holiday-themed romance novel. Titled “The Mrs. Claus Contract,” it is a book that delves into a variety of concepts intending to amuse readers with its comedic twists on classic Christmas story tropes.
It follows Sam McNaughton, a jaded soldier declared killed in action by the military, who figures he might as well stay hidden from the world on his family Christmas tree farm. The problem is whatever back-pay owed him won’t come his way soon enough to pay his bills.
His solution? He becomes a Santa Claus at the local market.
There is one problem he didn’t count on. Prior to his so-called demise, he had broken up with his fiancée, Sophie. When he turns up for his temporary Santa job, he has no idea that the perfectly costumed Mrs. Claus beside him is Sophie herself!
It’s a premise set up for a lot of antics both comical, dramatic, and everything in between. At the Printers Row Lit Fest 2024, Kinnee is set to exhibit this book at the self-publishing and book marketing company Readers Magnet’s exhibit. The outdoor literary festival is slated for September 7-8, 2024, at Printers Row Park, 620 S. Dearborn St (Ida B Wells & Polk), Chicago, Illinois.
