Clarence H. Franklin was born in Centreville, MS, in southwest Wilkinson County in 1952. He developed a love for reading, writing, and drawing at an early age. He particularly liked science fiction stories. His favorite authors growing up included Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, H.G. Wells, Alexander Dumas, and Mark Twain. He could not get enough of stories of speculative fiction. He also began creating his own stories, mainly for the entertainment of his family and friends. He created The Space Travelers in high school over 50 years ago and wrote and illustrated several stories throughout high school. His current book, “For the Sake of A Friend,” was the last Space Travelers book he wrote and was written his senior year in high school..
