C.E. Schauer Set to Exhibit Spooky New Installment of His Spunky Children’s Book Series at L.A. Times Festival of Books 2024

C.E. Schauer is a former Coast Guard member who publishes his own children’s book series, titled “Suzy and the Bug.” It’s a series featuring an adventurous little tomboy named Bug and her cat Suzy. Schauer has published three books in the series so far. For the upcoming L.A. Times Festival of Books, he plans to exhibit the newest (and also the spookiest) of Bug’s escapades as she faces off against the ghosts supposedly haunting her new home.

“Bug has one big fear. Can she work together with her friends to face it?”

The L.A. Times Festival of Books is often the place to find new up-and-rising authors who are taking a very ambitious step in their writing journey. That has certainly been the case for C.E. Schauer, a former Coast Guard member who has taken to using his experiences to vividly color the stories in his own children’s book series.

The title of his children’s book series is called “Suzy and the Bug”. Yet, in a clever twist, the titular Bug is actually the name of the high-spirited, tomboyish little girl who is the series’ main protagonist, alongside her cat Suzy.

Throughout the course of his author’s journey, Schauer has already written about Bug’s first adventure, followed by an exciting encounter with the Loch Ness monster. In his new book in the series, however, he has decided to take a turn for the spooky in “Ghost Chasers: A Suzy and the Bug Adventure”.

At this point, Schauer has presented Bug as a girl just like any other little kid: the kind that struggles with relationships, bullies, and understanding who she is. However, one day she and her family decide to move to a new home. This new home looks quite scary, and it doesn’t take long before Bug feels like it could be haunted!

Still, all is not lost when Bug and Suzy get help from an unexpected source.

As with his previous books, Schauer hopes that young readers will learn important lessons about bravery, teamwork, and problem-solving skills from Bug’s ghostly encounter.

Visitors to the L.A. Times Festival of Books 2024 can find “Ghost Chasers: A Suzy and the Bug Adventure” displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at booth #225. The literary festival will take place at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, on April 20-21, 2024.
