Self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will display “Flying High Over the Cotton Field,” the memoir by Robert W. Coggin, at the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The literary festival will occur at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, on April 20-21, 2024.

The L.A. Times Festival of Books is an annual public festival celebrating community, literature, culture, and arts. Considered the largest book festival in the U.S., the event has drawn around 150,000 visitors annually. Visitors include authors, book lovers, exhibitors, celebrities, artists, and musicians. Aside from book exhibits, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books hosts events that include performances and storytelling for children, author signings, and panel discussions.

“Flying High Over the Cotton Field” follows the life trajectory of Robert W. Coggin. It tells the story of a man from picking cotton or plowing the fields behind an old mule to climbing the ladder in the airline industry. Bob’s enlistment in the U.S. Air Force catapulted his way to Delta Air Lines as he acquired his skills and training to work in the industry. With that, he climbed his way to becoming one of Delta’s top four executives.

The book aims to tell Bob’s life story and inspire those who think they are stuck in the chains of a difficult low life. The story used his life story to convey a message that anyone can reach an ambition with all the right timing, direction, and hard work.

“Flying High Over the Cotton Field” will be displayed at ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at the L.A. Times Festival of Books 2024 at booth #225. Visit the exhibit to check out the book’s display.
