Noel-Ann Brennan All Set for London Book Fair with Exhibit of Ambitious Sci-Fi Fantasy Set in the Post-Climate Apocalypse

Noel-Ann Brennan is a longtime independent author of several fantasy and science fiction novels. And for the upcoming London Book Fair, she’s excited to exhibit one of her previous works that blends these two genres together. Titled “A Changed World,” it’s set in a world radically altered by both climate change and the radical, chemical alteration of the environment. Following a ragtag party of post-apocalyptic adventures, they set off to avert yet another disaster poised to destroy Earth.

One of these also happens to focus on the hot topic of climate change while also blending popular elements from both fantasy and science fiction. It’s aptly titled “A Changed World,” which is set on an Earth that has already suffered the severe consequences of unchecked global warming (and then some).

In “A Changed World,” the phenomenon is cryptically dubbed The Change, an all-encompassing term for the chaotic transformation of the planet’s environment thanks to unchecked carbon emissions and then topped off with other hazardous chemically-induced alterations brought on by untold pollution. Its main character is Sage, a woman born into the harsh, wilderness life of post-apocalyptic America and an escapee from an oppressive village bent on selling her off as a concubine.

Eventually, her wandering life with an all-female tribe is suddenly disrupted when her apprentice is stolen away. The book then details her grand adventure as she ends up forming a ragtag party of heroes who eventually come face-to-face with a threat that is bent on finishing off all that’s left of life on Earth.

Fans of “A Changed World”’s work can check out a copy of “A Changed World” when it goes on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at stand #6A90 during the 2024 London Book Fair. Noel-Anne Brennan has spent most of her time reading fantasy and science fiction. She has been writing it since 1986 when “Winter Reckoning” was published. She was a finalist for the Romantic Times Award for “The Sword of the Land” in 2003. She has also written poetry and non-fiction. Until she retired she taught Anthropology and Gender Studies at the University of Rhode Island. She lives with her family in southern Rhode Island. Occasionally, in her spare time, she sleeps.
