Rebecca J. Brock Shares Her Profound Experience of Transcendence in Her Provocative, Eye-Opening Memoir
The author offers her book to readers who have lost a loved one and are dealing with grief and to those searching for a deeper meaning of life. She persuades her readers that they need not wallow in brokenness, persecution, and grief and assures them that healing, enlightenment, and ascension are possible if they are open to a paradigm shift.
“Once you read her brazen story, you may never see the world in the same way again.”
There is never a shortage of memoirs about dealing with the loss of a loved one and its aftermath, especially a deeply spiritual one. A book or two on such a subject should be made available on the exhibits at a major book fair, which would be remiss without one. Fortunately, the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair was not one, as anyone who visited the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibits should be able to recognize and browse through “Transcendence: A Memoir” (Luminare Press, 2023) by Rebecca J. Brock.
“Transcendence” offers readers an intimate look into a journey of grief, love, resilience, and spiritual awakening after the loss of one so dearly loved. Candid yet inspiring, the book honors not only the impact of the passing of the author’s son in 2019 but also her composure and great inner strength. Given that, anyone who has read the book will understand how Rebecca titled her book to be so.
“The title of this memoir changed several times in the process of writing it,” she said in the prologue. “Somehow, every title I chose didn’t quite fit… The title had to explain what my life was like up to this point. How could a simple title do that?
“Then I was given a simple word from my spirit guides: ‘Transcendence’… ‘the state of being transcendent or exceeding the usual limits; extending beyond the limits of ordinary experience; beyond comprehension.’ Yes, this is accurate! But, for some reason, this description of the word didn’t quite satisfy me. So I had to look up ‘Transcendence’ in the Urban Dictionary. I’ve always been more street wise than book smart and I needed clarification. It said: Transcendence: ‘When you get over shit by dancing.’ YES! I have been dancing my entire life, and it is how I overcome adversities.”
Throughout “Transcendence,” Rebecca shares her awakening and ascension experiences. Her narrative brings her readers up close and personal with her journey toward her Divine Calling. Her journey was one that entails the individual to stay true to themselves, follow their heart, find their purpose, answer the call of their soul, and live their life as a mission. (The book itself is Rebecca’s mission to the world as well as her testament or witnessing to the Divine)
“This book is not about Sammy’s life or how special he is,” said Rebecca, “This book isn’t even all about my life, because it wouldn’t be that interesting unless you actually know me. This is my truth, and I have stayed silent for far too long.
“This book isn’t about grief either, because that topic is super depressing and no one wants to read a book about it. This is my story of how a series of supernatural events have led me to where I am today. This book is the ‘abridged’ story of my life, and my life is stranger than fiction. It is about the mystical moments that made me realize, without a shadow of a doubt, that there are things unseen, and the Divine plays a role in all of it.”

She continued to write bimonthly for this magazine for seven years. Many of her articles from the magazine can be found on her blog, www.heartcentereduniverse.com.
In 2021, Rebecca got her real estate license in Florida and entered the real estate industry as a sales associate. Everyone needs a roof over their head.” She also plans to invest in real estate in the future.
After her son Sammy passed away suddenly in 2019, Rebecca knew she needed to write a memoir of her experience to help others who have lost a loved one. The profound spiritual awakening she had due to his death completely changed her life. Rebecca is also involved in the family charity in her son’s name, which donates funds and builds buildings for those less fortunate.
