Boeing Names Chuck Allen Rotorcraft Systems Vice President and General Manager

The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] named Charles H. (Chuck) Allen vice president and general manager, Rotorcraft Systems, effective March 16. Allen replaces Mike Tkach, who has retired from the company.

In his new position, Allen is responsible for all Rotorcraft Systems programs and supporting functional activities in Philadelphia, Pa., and Mesa, Ariz. He reports to John Lockard, president of Precision Engagement and Mobility Systems (PEMS), and will serve on the PEMS leadership team. Rotorcraft Systems programs include the AH-64 Apache, the CH-47 Chinook and the V-22 Osprey.

Allen’s most recent assignment was vice president of Business Operations for Boeing Huntsville where he represented Boeing Integrated Defense Systems in Alabama and was responsible for site operations. He served previously as vice president and program manager, Space Exploration Systems, and led Boeing space system developments to support the Vision for Space Exploration. Allen earlier was vice president and program director of the Comanche Program Office and led the RAH-66 Comanche helicopter program for the Boeing Sikorsky joint venture team. He also held leadership positions on the F/A-18E/F, AV-8B and T-45 programs.

Allen joined the company in 1987 after serving 14 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was recalled to active duty for Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Rice University and a master’s degree in business administration from UCLA. Allen is a member of the Marine Corps Aviation Association, Association of Naval Aviation, the Army Aviation Association of America, American Helicopter Society and the Society of Experimental Test Pilots.
