Elena, hailing from Monaco, spent 24 years as the co-driver to Sébastien Loeb in a partnership that yielded nine WRC titles and 79 rally victories. He stepped back from co-driving in 2021.

However, the 51-year-old is set to become a regular presence in service parks again in 2024 as he assumes a new role as the coordinator for Bolivian brothers Marco and Bruno Bulacia, both of whom are planning to continue in WRC2.

Marco, 23, has secured six podiums in the championship’s premier support category while Bruno, 21, has just completed his second year within the series. Both drivers plan to disclose more details about their 2024 programmes soon.

“We are very pleased that Daniel Elena will join our team to guide us in sport and technical management,” revealed Marco.

“I am delighted to be part of the team of Bruno and Marco Bulacia for the World Rally Championship,” Elena added. “I believe that with the motivation of both, we will all go together to seek victory.”
