Nissan opens 90th anniversary special exhibit


Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is holding a special exhibit at its global headquarters from today through December 27 to commemorate its 90th anniversary. Displays along the wall and floor of the Nissan Walk* highlight the history of the company since its founding on December 26, 1933.

Thousands of people pass through the Nissan Walk daily between Yokohama Stationís East Exit and the Minatomirai area, making it the perfect place to publicly showcase Nissanís illustrious past and its ambitions for the future.

The exhibit highlights Nissanís history chronologically. Each segment presents a decade of epoch-making events, pioneering technologies and notable cars along with the social context of each era. The Minatomirai side of the 75-meter timeline begins with the establishment of Nissan, while the Yokohama Station side concludes with the companyís plans for the future.

Since Nissanís founding, the spirit to ďDare to do what others donítĒ has inspired generations of employees to push the boundaries of innovation and enrich peopleís lives. This remains the companyís mission as it strives to create a cleaner, safer and more inclusive world.

The Global Headquarters Gallery, located on the first floor, is also holding a 90th anniversary event through January 8 to show Nissanís appreciation of all the people and communities that have supported it for so many years.
