Credit and Debit MasterCard cardholders are offered reduced prices for H&R Block’s TaxCut Online tax preparation programs.
MasterCard Worldwide® today announced that it will again team with H&R Block, the world’s largest tax services company, to make paying tax debts faster and more efficient for taxpayers. Since 2004, MasterCard has worked with H&R Block and LINK2GOV Corp., an Internal Revenue Service-approved payment processor and a Metavante company, to enable cardholders to easily pay their balances due for federal tax Form 1040 online using their MasterCard cards.

In addition, this year taxpayers can save 35 percent on the purchase of any one of H&R Block’s TaxCut Online tax preparation programs, when they purchase the program with their Debit or Credit MasterCard card on the www.hrblock.com/goto/mastercard website.

"Filling out tax forms and standing in line at the post office can be time consuming and MasterCard wants to make the process more convenient for our cardholders,” said Steve Carnevale, vice president, U.S. Commerce Development at MasterCard Worldwide. “That is why for the third year in a row, we are teaming up with H&R Block to encourage people to easily pay their taxes online, from the comfort of their homes.”

According to the IRS, in 2006, 73 million individuals filed their taxes online, 20 million even filed from home computers. The number of taxpayers filing online continues to grow as they take advantage of the ease of filing online and the added convenience of settling obligations with payment cards.
