Dee Bostic Shares Social Commentary Through Medical Drama in Book Slated for Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023 Exhibit

The Guadalajara International Book Fair is both a massive cultural event and the Americas’ largest book fair. Plenty of international publishers are expected to gather and exhibit the works of their newest authors. Each book promises a new story with ideas that both captivate and challenge. Or at least, both are certainly the goal of Dee Bostic, author of the “Love, Lies & Lab Coats” series. Its first volume will be exhibited at the book event.

“A story about an unusual cast of dissimilar characters at South Hill Medical Center where they tackle difficult, everyday issues through social commentary and soul searching.”

This November, numerous international publishers will once again gather in Mexico for the Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacíonal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL). It is the Americas’ biggest book fair, inviting avid readers from across the region to discover new authors.

Plenty of these writers are even exhibiting the first volume of their ambitiously planned series, such as medical drama author Dee Bostic. Titled “Love, Lies & Lab Coats: Volume 1,” it is the first installment of Bostic’s exciting project where she presents the unique perspective of an African-American working in a predominantly white medical institution. She herself is a professional medical technologist who had the honor of working at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Due to her lifelong ambition to write novels, Bostic decided it was time to turn her experiences into inspiration for an entire book series.

“Love, Lies & Lab Coats” follows not one but several main characters whose lives are brought together in the South Hill Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. Among these include a devoted group of doctors, a narcissistic surgeon, a brilliant medical technologist, a sickly child patient, and even a talented chef.

Each of their stories overlaps across the chapters, with some parts entertaining while others tackle difficult, realistic issues and social commentary (particularly on racism). Yet, despite all the drama, each of these colorful characters is on the road to love, forgiveness, and redemption.

Readers who are always looking for new intriguing medical fiction at Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023 can find Dee Bostic’s first volume of “Love, Lies & Lab Coats” when it gets displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at booth #GG38 from November 25 to 29, 2023. The book fair will occur at the Expo Guadalajara, Av. Juárez No. 976, Colonia Centro, C.P. 44100, Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, and will run from November 25 to December 3, 2023. Those who want to get the book online right now can also find it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and ReadersMagnet Bookstore.
