Norma Fleagane’s “Sneaky the Hairy Mountain Monster: How I Lost My Parents“ will be Exhibited at the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair

The self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will display Norma Fleagane’s children’s fiction book “Sneaky the Hairy Mountain Monster: How I Lost my Parents” at the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair on November 25-29, 2023.

The Guadalajara International Book Fair is a significant event for authors, publishers, and book enthusiasts in Ibero-America, which also doubles as a unique cultural festival. The book fair, also known as the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), is the most influential in the Americas. Around 2,000 publishers from 47 countries and 800,000 individuals attend the event annually. This year, the Guadalajara International Book Fair will occur at the Expo Guadalajara, Av. Norma Fleagane’s delightful book for children tells the story of Sneaky, a fictional three-eyed green monster living deep in the woods near Blake James’ grandparents’ house. In “Sneaky the Hairy Mountain Monster: How I Lost My Parents”, Blake and his cousin Makayla set out to find Sneaky. When they do, they learn the secrets about him and his parents. The book attempts to answer many of a child’s questions, and is enhanced with many beautiful colorful illustrations.

Norma hopes to create a lively dialogue between parent and child. She intends to spark curiosity and encourage readers to ask questions about the character. Readers might wonder why Sneaky has three eyes, whether there are any other species with three eyes, what happened to his parents, why Sneaky lives alone, how he found a place to live, why he hides from people, and how he got his name.

Norma Fleagane is a wife and mother of six daughters. She has five grandsons, two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter. She was born in Ohio and studied early childhood education and psychology at Ohio University. She is a businesswoman who lives and works with her husband, James, in Wheeling, West Virginia, and Singer Island, Florida. Aside from writing children’s books, she works on the family genealogy and has one room in her house dedicated to family memorabilia---her grandson calls it the family “Memory” room. In her high school yearbook, she said her passion was to travel. She and her husband like to experience different cultures, ethnic foods, and customs. She believes in living life to the fullest and finding something to be happy about every day.
