Mark DeVitre Named Senior Vice President, Business Affairs and Operations, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution

Mark DeVitre has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Business Affairs and Operations, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution, it was announced today by Eric Frankel, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution (WBDCD), to whom DeVitre will report.

In his new position, DeVitre will serve as the senior business executive for WBDCD, which is the leading supplier of programming content to the pay television and basic cable marketplace and one of the industry’s leading licensors of theatrical motion pictures to the five broadcast television networks. DeVitre will oversee all of the business and legal affairs activities of the division. He will work closely with Frankel and the WBDCD executive team to identify and execute new and emerging distribution opportunities for the Studio’s entertainment offerings, including feature films, television series, miniseries, television movies, specials and animation.

During his tenure at WBDCD, DeVitre has been responsible for numerous high-profile deals, including the Warner Bros. agreement with AOL for the launch of In2TV—the Studio’s broadband television service—and the recent license of The O.C. and One Tree Hill to SOAPnet.

Immediately prior to his promotion, DeVitre served as Vice President, Sales, WBDCD, a position he held since November 2003. In this position, he was responsible for the domestic licensing of all motion picture and television content distributed by the Studio to pay television and basic cable.

Before joining WBDCD, DeVitre worked at Fox Entertainment Group for nearly six years, rising to the position of Senior Vice President/General Manager, Fox Movie Channel. During his tenure, subscriber numbers at the cable network doubled, topping 20 million. Prior to that, DeVitre served as Senior Vice President, Operations, FX Network, focusing on its growth from 38 million to more than 80 million subscribers, as well as overseeing the network’s business operations. Prior to joining the management ranks at Fox, DeVitre started with Fox Cable Networks as Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, with responsibility for FX, Fox Movie Channel and The Health Network.

Pre-Fox, DeVitre held business and legal affairs positions at Warner Home Video, Philips Interactive Media, Multimedia Entertainment and Hanna-Barbera Productions.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and his juris doctor from Southwestern University School of Law.
