Frank-Yet-Moving Poetry by Women’s Author Whitney Ford Exhibited at Printers Row Lit Fest 2023
Throughout America’s literary history, Chicago’s own Printers Row served as a major publishing hub and a launch point for many poets. Eeven today, authors like Whitney Ford still see it as an avenue for sharing the work in the form of the Printers Row Lit Fest. Ford is a mindset coach who has an extensive experience working in mental health and the crisis the field is witnessing today. In her book “Sister, How Are You?” she talks about these problems from the perspective of women she knows.

When it comes to American literature, the Printers Row area of Chicago was said to have published a great many authors with a wide range of views begging to be read by the American public.

Whitney is a practicing mindset coach who strives to teach the art of pivoting and navigating through life’s challenges. For Ford and her friends, the only improvement seems to have been a promise of politeness that is only skin deep. The willingness to actually listen, pay attention and acknowledge the realities expressed by women’s voices remains absent.
Thus, it is her hope that having her work read at the Printers Row Lit Fest 2023 will make people be aware of where the real solutions lie. Every piece is meant to challenge readers to stop reaching out for the sake of quickly dismissing lingering problems but to start genuinely caring.
