Donald Welch’s Sobering Play About the Price of Deception Soon to Exhibit at the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair

The Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023 is expecting host thousands of book exhibits, but the event is also a major event dedicated to culture. That is why one will also find several newly written plays at the exhibits. Donald Welch’s book, “The Love I Thought I Knew,” is one such example. As a newly published author, he hopes that the script he shares will not only tell a compelling story but also impart a serious lesson on honesty.

Near the end of the year, many global publishers will be convening in Guadalajara, Mexico, the Americas’ largest book fair: the Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL).

And for newly published author Donald Welch, the event isn’t just an opportunity to exhibit the latest novels. It is also a chance to tell stories in other formats, such as poems and (in his case) plays.

In fact, one of his books, “The Love I Thought I Knew,” is actually a play with six scenes that he hopes would make quite the dramatic impact on readers.

Its story follows Calvin and Karen Tisdale, a couple whose marriage is on the rocks. Calvin has recently been very argumentative and surrounding himself with more women, causing Karen to become suspicious.

However, the story involves more than just the couple, as the drama unfolds to include members of both parties’ families. Welch’s core theme for the story is how love and trust must never be given freely. The people that one surrounds themselves with are squarely divided between those who are only there ‘for a season’ in contrast to those who will be there for a lifetime.

Welch is a retired military veteran who has been writing as a passionate pastime, and all his stories were made with the intention of influencing people in a positive manner. Asides from “The Love I Thought I Knew,” he’s also published two other plays: Hiding My Unhappiness and My Lost Identity.

So, by sharing his work at the 2023 Guadalajara International Book Fair, the author hopes his stories can have an even wider impact on readers abroad.

Donald Welch’s “The Love I Thought I Knew” will be displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit. The book fair will kick off from November 25 to December 3, 2023, at the Expo Guadalajara Convention Center, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Get the book on Amazon.
