Sue Matinkhah’s Children’s Book On the Science of Water and Its Joys Seen at Printers Row Lit Fest

Every year, the Printers Row Lit Fest gives authors a chance to display their work at a very historic place along Chicago’s streets. Several of these exhibits have also been dedicated to new children’s books, including the humble work of pro-environment author Sue Ann Matinkhah. Titled “Splish Splash Water,” it is a simple introduction to the water cycle even in the midst of people having some splashing fun!

“Learn the fun things you can do with water, along with fun facts about why it matters for life on Earth.”

Last September 9-10, 2023, Chicago’s Printers Row Lit Fest 2023 gave many aspiring authors a chance to exhibit their work out in the same streets that saw the distribution of countless other books across America’s literary history.

And for Sue Ann Matinkhah and her book, “Splish Splash Water,” that made it a fun opportunity to promote science education among young readers and, above all, environmental awareness. With the help of ReadersMagnet, a self-publishing and book marketing company, she arranged an exhibit of her book during the fest.

Matinkhah is a long-time Michigan resident who had grown a deep fondness for the natural world as well as science, explaining its harmony. After spending much time with her grandchildren, she was inspired to start writing a series aimed towards their generation and teach them the importance of environmental conservation.

In the case of “Splish Splash Water,” it is the vital role of the planet’s entire water cycle. Its main premise starts with showcasing all the fun things to do with water, from swimming in pools, playing with hoses in the garden, and other similar activities. From there, the book then introduces them to their first lesson on water’s different states and how its transformation between solid, liquid and gas allows water to be distributed properly all around the planet.

Of course, such a lesson would also not be complete without the important message about not wasting water. These days, Matinkhah has realized how crucial it is for today’s kids to develop a sense of eco-responsibility and understand how their actions towards the natural world can help preserve it for many more generations to come.

Sue Matinkhah’s “Splish Splash Water” is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and ReadersMagnet Bookstore. To learn more about Matinkhah’s other books on the environment, visit her website at https://www.suematinkhah.com/.
