“Love Thy Neighbor?,” a Christian Novella About Neighborly Kindness and Fateful Encounters by Christe Dailey-Arceneaux, Exhibited at Printers Row Lit Fest 2023

The Printers Row Lit Fest keeps alive Chicago’s own literary tradition of giving a platform to authors from various walks of life and worldviews. It is for this reason that Christe Dailey-Arceneaux, a proud Catholic Cajun and radio show host, arranged to exhibit her recent book Love Thy Neighbor. And with its message, the book tells the timeless lesson of showing kindness without judgment for one can never tell who it is they might encounter.

“When I started reading it, I could not put it down!! My husband does usually read books very much but he told me the same thing!! Great little book! A must read!!” – Stephanie Boone

During the early half of September, the city of Chicago once again hosted the Printers Row Lit Fest. For both organizers and attendees, the large-scale book showcase was an opportunity to encounter a rich variety of authors via their newest publications.

Incidentally, the idea of encounter is central to the plot of Christe Dailey-Arceneaux’s own book, which she exhibited during the outdoor literary event.

The title of the book is Love Thy Neighbor?, and it was on display with the support of ReadersMagnet, a book marketing and self-publishing company.

A Catholic Cajun, Christe is proud of both her heritage and her faith. At times, she has volunteered to cook Cajun cuisine for the hungry and currently hosts a radio show to promote local musicians. The many experiences she’s had because of her faith, family, and friends have given her much reason to write and pursue authorship.

That’s why in Love Thy Neighbor?, she shares a very big message based on Christianity’s second greatest commandment. Its story follows CeCe and Phillip Richards, a couple who started out as teen sweethearts but are now many years into their marriage.

Unfortunately, CeCe has been growing more irritable and stubborn over time, leading her to increasingly sour encounters with every stranger she meets. Philip, being the softer of the two, becomes increasingly at a loss as this inevitably creates a strain on their marriage.

The good news is that the book’s primary tension and tragedy also give way for reconciliation as well as a revelation about God’s presence in society’s least fortunate.

Christe hopes it’s a lesson that made a strong impression to those who read her work during the Printers Row Lit Fest 2023.
