Colombian Police Join IACP/DuPont™ Kevlar® Survivors’ Club®

WEBWIRE

DuPont recently recognized eight Colombian police officers for surviving a life-threatening event by wearing body armor with DuPont™ Kevlar®. The officers were inducted into International Association of Chiefs of Police / DuPont™ Kevlar® Survivors’ Club®.

About 150 people attended the ceremony, including members of the National Police Direction; Government Security Citizens; delegates from the Bogotá Council and the U.S. Embassy; news media and DuPont employees from Colombia, México and Brazil.

Colombia is the only country in Latin America to have police officers as members of the survivors club. “We are very proud to honor these Colombian officers, for they risk their lives every day to save others and contribute to a safer society,” said Guillermo Heins, president, DuPont Andean Region.

DuPont enforces safety by encouraging the use of body armor to protect police officers from potentially serious physical injuries or death.
