Soul-Searching Christian Youth Share Testimonies in Jacqueline King’s Touching Book Exhibited at Printers Row Lit Fest

Back in early September, the Printers Row Lit Fest 2023 gave newly published authors an exciting chance to showcase their work on the streets of Chicago. Such a venue was just ideal for Christian counselor Jacqueline King, author of “From the Mouth of Babes.” The book is a collection of essays and testimonies of the young people she has encountered in her ministry. In it, readers were able to see a more honest and heartfelt side to faith-seeking kids.

Chicago’s Printers Row was the site of many publications and that includes no small number of written testimonies by people with a story to tell. For Christian counselor and youth minister Jacqueline King, the real stories worth telling are those of the many young, passionate, and soul-searching kids she was blessed to mentor.

That is why she decided to collect their many heartfelt essays and publish them in a book titled “From the Mouth of Babes.” The book was able to exhibit at the fest with support from ReadersMagnet, a self-publishing and book marketing company.

King has been a firsthand witness to many of the struggles of young people. She is not only a paralegal expert and certified counselor; she has worked with organizations such as the New England Home for Little Wanderers, the Boston Ten Point Coalition, and the Department of Youth Services in Massachusetts.

Much of her work involved listening, engaging and letting these youths speak their mind through written words. And as she read through them, she was compelled to share their thoughts with the world and the let the world know that even young people who style themselves as Christian are just as human as everyone else. They have their own worries, fears, and hopes for the future they are trying to build.

It is her hope that the people who looked through her book during the Lit Fest would at least come away with a different perspective on kids taking part in youth ministry.

Author Bio
Jacqueline King was born in Antigua, West Indies. She migrated to Montserrat at an early age, where she lived for about fifteen years before moving to the United States. Jacqueline has always been an Avid reader, and it was out of her love for reading that she developed a passion for writing. While attending Grade School in the Caribbean, she was known for writing excellent compositions, which were often displayed in her classroom for other students to read. Throughout the years she has written short stories for Sunday Lessons, as well as poems; all of which she kept but never published. “From the Mouth of Babes” would be her first publication, but certainly not her last.

Jacqueline is also a wife, a mother and grandmother. She resides in Florida with her husband Cedric King. Jacqueline holds Degrees Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, and Christian Counseling. She is a life-long learner who is always seeking the next opportunity. Jacqueline has served her local church for years as Youth Minister and Mentor, she has volunteered in her community as Guardian ad Litem FL, Big Sister, Little Sister Program, Department of Youth Services, MA; Boston Ten Point Coalition, and New England Home for Little Wanderers. Jacqueline also holds certification in Crisis Management and Youth Counseling.

In her spare time, she enjoys long walks, as well as gardening. She is passionate about young people and believe that God has called her to serve in that area. She accepts the call gracefully.
