Jim Reuther’s Alphabetic Tribute to Life and Family Exhibited at the Printers Row Lit Fest 2023

Much like the many books once launched in its namesake hub, the Printers Row Lit Fest 2023 had exhibits showcasing all types of stories. There were tales about today’s world-shaping trends alongside personal stories of ordinary people trying to happily make their way in the world. Jim Reuther and his book are in the latter category. Those who read his work will know how fulfilled he is by publishing it. Titled “Gunky’s Adventures,” it’s a series of many touching stories in alphabetical order.

“In this book is a life-hearted collection of anecdotes that share the most tender moments in a life wonderfully lived.”

This year’s Printers Row Lit Fest was an opportunity for a rich diversity of authors to exhibit their work. But while there were plenty of books talking about the next big thing to shape the world stage, Jim Reuther was one author humbly content with sharing his heartfelt passion project on life and living.

Reuther is a former professor with an extensive background in chemistry, engineering, advanced research, and more. However, on the side he had always nurtured a passion for storytelling and writing. His book, Gunky’s Adventures: In the Land of Must Believe, came about as a result of and after the unfortunate passing of his wife in a heartwarming love letter she left him as an eternal gift.

Gunky’s Adventures is an eclectic collection of personal stories with opening poems on the most pivotal episodes in Reuther’s life. In addition to the letter from his late wife, which is included, they share extraordinary twists of fate in his budding science career and insightful instances in his family’s history, notably the day he met his wife and the night she peacefully departed.

The anthology is arranged in an alphabetical order while touching a varied range of themes, including hope, humor, joy, nature, positivity, true love, and most importantly, belief.

There are also amazing accounts that put Reuther and his family as firsthand witnesses to some of the biggest cultural events in American history.

So, for those visitors to the Printers Row Lit Fest who wanted a read close to home, Gunky’s Adventures: In the Land of Must Believe certainly delivered. Readers elsewhere interested in being inspired by Gunky’s World can order a copy on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Jim Reuther has already started writing more Gunky’s adventures with updates soon to be made available on his personal website at https://www.jimreutherakagunky.com/.
