“I’ve read all of Dennis’ books...each one builds on his personal writing growth, great story telling skill, authentic geographic location descriptions, and he puts his heart into each one...your interest is kept until the end! The Siren’s Refrain moves one to think about aging, illness, never-lost love, and an ending left up to where the reader needs to go...” – Marvin J. Godner

The 7th San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books was a welcome opportunity for many new authors excited to exhibit their very first publication. However, it was also just as exciting an opportunity for those who have long been in the business.

Dennis Jung is a long-time author and traveler who already has ten novels under his belt. He was a finalist in the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards and has had a passion for storytelling since he was young.

Fans of his work often praise his writing for its beautiful descriptions of different locales. But at the same time, he uses these colorful backdrops to express the dynamic inner workings of his characters as they go through a wide range of motions.

This all remains evident in the novel that he had exhibited during the Festival of Books. Titled “The Siren’s Refrain,” its exhibit was with the support of ReadersMagnet, a book marketing and self-publishing company.

“The Siren’s Refrain” follows famed travel writer Leon Riser. Leon, however, has a few uncomfortable secrets from his past. Long ago, he had a dramatic 20-year affair with the legendary songstress Lou Ann Catskill. The affair would expose so much between the pair, resulting in great anguish as much as passion.

But now, Lou Ann has gone missing, and Leon feels called to find her before the worst can happen. Their story would then have readers travelling across different states as both Leon and Lou Ann look back on their tattered romance and the reality of their aging years.

Plenty of visitors to the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books were eager to see the twists and turns of “The Siren’s Refrain.” The book is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Dennis Jung is still eager to keep publishing, with updates on his next work available on his website at https://dennisjung.com/.
