First Book of Thomas Livernois’ Suspenseful “Drachman” Series Showcased at the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books 2023

Every year, the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books offers plenty of authors a chance to showcase their work to the city’s readers. It’s a chance to expand their readership and add their stories to the wealth of intriguing plots and fascinating premises in people’s imaginations.

Thomas Livernois is certainly one author who is eager to keep on showcasing his exciting foray into the genre of spy thrillers.

Livernois is the author of the Drachman series. For now, it comprises two books, with the first one, “Drachman’s Dilemmas,” which was recently exhibited at the Festival of Books. The exhibit was made possible with the help of ReadersMagnet, a book marketing and self-publishing company.

The series follows Frank Drachman, whose story starts like that of any man quietly and earnestly working his way up the product testing industry ladder. Officially, he’s the head of his own compliance testing company and is a fairly accomplished engineer. In reality, his is just one of the many small companies just hitched to the greater behemoth of General Motors and makes the most of what’s been dealt to him in the meeting room.

However, in “Drachman’s Dilemmas,” his life takes a strange turn after a bad run-in with an out-of-town bar drunkard. Little did he know that the man he confronted would eventually be found beaten half to death and the police with little choice but to tie Frank to the case.

That would be just the beginning, however. And as the book’s plot thickens, the secrets of the half-dead man would have Drachman unwillingly dragged into a darker world. It’s a world known only to the highest seats of power yet obeys none of the rules they set down.
