Judy V. Rentz shares her life story of fighting a serious and painful disease in her medical memoir, “Fighting to Survive”. This book shares the struggles of living with Pudendal Nerve Entrapment, the “monster” that cause unrelenting attacks and inflicts pain.

The author tells her story of being a country girl in Tennessee. Her mother never thought she’d be alive after a badly-handled delivery. Growing up, Judy already knew pain as she would experience hip and leg pain that she never dreamed she would be born alive.

Despite the seemingly never-ending torture, Judy still fueled her passion for gardening, landscaping, and design. She would work on projects and build structures that would suffice her burning desire for a perfect garden and landscaping. Just like her garden, her passion grew and flourished.

In June 2007, she discovered that she would go home with dull low backaches. The backaches would soon worsen. She went on to see her primary doctor. She took some light pain medication and muscle relaxers, but the “monster” seemed unaffected. She tried to seek one of the top specialists but still experienced worsening pain.

For six and a half years, she experienced deathly pain from her condition. She never knew that help could still come.

The author uses her experience as a tool to help “sufferers” from the grip of Pudendal Nerve Entrapment and similar diseases. She aims to bring hope to those who think they are hopeless in their battles.
