National Preparedness Month and Disaster Planning Resources for Businesses and Institutions

Since 2004, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has designated September as National Preparedness Month (NPM). The annual event encourages people across the United States to take steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, institutions, and communities.

Up to 40% of businesses affected by a natural or human-caused disaster do not reopen according to Ready.gov.
