William Earl Land, Sr., is the pastor of St. Albans Church of God in Christ in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was raised to believe in God and prayed for answers to his questions. His Sunday school teacher told him that the Lord would give him wisdom. After graduating from Mechanic Arts High School in 1973, he worked at Honeywell, Inc. in Golden Valley, MN. William Bell was a student at Honeywell who had terrible habits contrary to the church’s teachings. He admired Shirley Gayden, a lady who gave him sound advice.

In 1983, he gave his life to Christ at St. Albans COGIC, which he attends today. In 1987, he married Shirley Bell and accepted the call of his life to the ministry. Within ten years, they had three more children, and William was installed as the pastor of St. Albans Church of God in Christ. William credits his mother, Elnora Land, Godmother Effie Clemons, Uncle Booker T. Pruitt and his wife, Aunt Ernestine Pruitt, and Pastor/Superintendent Timothy L. Barge Senior for being his role models and mentors. William and Shirley both profess their commitment to the Lord as the reason their marriage has been successful.

They love their children, grandchildren, and everyone they encounter lovingly and respectfully. Pastor Land is a man of wisdom and integrity who genuinely loves all people and believes his mission is to preach and expound the word of God to the best of his ability. He credits the ministry of Hank Hanegraaff, the “Bible Answer Man,” for introducing him to theological material. He believes the Lord has blessed him beyond anything he could have imagined and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord.
