Sesame Solar Makes Renewably Powered Water Out of Thin Air with Watergen Partnership

Jackson, Michigan, USA – WEBWIRE
  • The Atmospheric Water generators will create a continuous green energy loop within Sesame’s 100% renewably powered Mobile Nanogrids.

  • By extracting water from humidity in the air through Watergen’s innovative technology, the Nanogrids will now have unlimited clean drinking water and unlimited deionized water to power the green hydrogen fuel cells.

  • It aims to address the water crisis issue as well as access to reliable energy from renewable sources for customers spanning disaster relief to the entertainment industry.

Sesame Solar, the company creating global, climate-resilience solutions, is bringing more clean energy automation solutions to its Mobile Nanogrids with the debut of atmospheric water generators. These innovative generators require zero connection to water sources and instead run solely off Sesame’s solar and green hydrogen-powered Mobile Nanogrids.

The benefits of air-to-water generation within the Mobile Nanogrids are two-fold:

  • The new system ensures a steady supply of deionized water, a crucial supply chain component for green hydrogen production. This advances Sesame Solar’s off-grid system, which runs solely on sunshine and green hydrogen.

  • Beyond supporting energy production, the Mobile Nanogrids will now offer a lifeline by generating clean drinking water within minutes, making it an invaluable asset for organizations who require instant clean water access.

Our partnership with Watergen centers around a shared commitment to use sustainable technology to improve the lives of people globally,” said Lauren Flanagan, CEO and co-founder of Sesame Solar. “This is a major unlock for organizations that need clean water and mobile power in a fast, and self-sustaining way with zero supply chain dependencies. All you need is sunshine.”

Our collaboration with Sesame Solar is a game-changer which promotes sustainability in mobile and off-grid environments by providing a source of safe, clean water for both drinking and renewable energy production,” said Watergen’s CEO, Steve Elbaz. “Watergen’s cutting-edge technology, creating water from air within any mobile vehicles, enables for a completely sustainable approach for emergency teams responding to impacted communities.”

Here’s how the Watergen technology works: a filtration system absorbs air from the environment and transfers it to the heat exchanger, which is the heart of the technology. Using proprietary software, the heat exchanger extracts the water and transfers it into a buffer tank. From there, it passes through filters and UV lamps to purify and add minerals to the water, according to specifications set out by Watergen researchers. This purification and filtration system ensures clean, safe and tasty drinking water that complies with all international standards.

Here’s how the Sesame Solar technology works: Using solar, green hydrogen and battery storage, Sesame’s Mobile Nanogrids generate clean, off-grid power within 15 minutes. The Mobile Nanogrids consist of a retractable solar array that provides the energy to charge the battery storage system and to produce green hydrogen via electrolyzers. The Watergen atmospheric water generator generates pure water, which is then deionized to provide the water for the making of hydrogen gas through electrolysis. No supply chain for deionized water is required, a huge benefit during emergencies and in remote locations. As a 100% renewable and modular solution, Sesame Solar does not depend on diesel or gas and it operates independently from the grid. The Mobile Nanogrids are easy to transport and serve a wide range of use cases including cool and clean water stations, medical services, WiFi, EV charging access, emergency response, community centers and hubs for film sets within the Hollywood entertainment industry.
